STRUCTURE
- Vidya Sudha is a social initiative of Sri Ramachandra Educational and Health Trust.
- Registered as an institution under section 52(2) of Rights of Persons with Disabilities
Act, 2016 (Formerly, it was registered under section 51 of Persons with Disabilities
Act, 1995) - A recognized early intervention centre, given recognition from Office of the State
Directorate for the welfare of Differently Abled, Government of Tamil Nadu - A uniquely designed 2000 sq.ft building

OBJECTIVES
- Vidya Sudha is committed to achieving the following objectives with the focus of helping
children with disabilities become independent, self-reliant and confident individuals: - To meet the diverse learning needs, ensuring that each child receives appropriate and
comprehensive rehabilitation services - To prevent the risk of disability at an early age and promote the overall well-being of
the children through early intervention and training. - To transform challenging behaviours into positive behaviours by creating a conducive
environment for all children. - To create an environment fostered by familial, community, and institutional support
systems that enhance education, offer balanced nutrition, and improve the quality of
life for children. - To integrate the children into mainstream society, preparing them for greater
independence and success. - To empower parents of children with disabilities and facilitate access to government
programmes and resources. - To provide tailored and sponsored training, capacity-building programmes, seminars,
workshops and conferences for various stakeholders. - To create awareness among all stakeholders and involve them in advocacy and
targeted interventions for the well-being of children with disabilities
As part of Sri Ramachandra Educational and Health Trust’s social initiative, “Vidya Sudha, Sri Ramachandra Learning Centre for Children with Special Needs was inaugurated on the 15th December, 2004. This was a much needed resource for the community as there were not many centres for special children. Over the years more and more children have been accessing its services and the centres now caters to around 100 children.
Conceived with the aim of helping parents of children with special needs, Vidya Sudha has touched the lives of many children directly and indirectly. It is working relentlessly for the betterment of these children. Vidya Sudha is an Early Intervention Programme.
